Grant recipients for 2009
Aggrey Onyango Oriema
Aggrey has now completed his final year of Environmental Health Sciences at KMTC in Nairobi. The Mikono Association grant has helped him to clear his final year fees. He is now pursuing further Environmental Health studies at Jomo Kenyatta University and is passionate about working in the community towards better health for all. He has also started student groups at KMTC and Kenyatta University to encourage fellow students in their studies.
Stanley Lucas Olewe
Stanley is now entering his 3rd year of Community Health Nursing at KMTC in Kisii, Western Kenya. A good student, he has tried previously to support himself through his studies by occasional part-time work. With a Mikono Association grant, he is now able to concentrate on his studies. He is looking forward to finishing his course and either furthering his studies or finding work at various hospitals and clinics.
Lorna Akinyi Oyuke

Lorna is a 3rd year nursing student at KMTC in Kakamega. For her, nursing is a calling and profession that she serves with a passion. When she graduates this year, she plans to find work in Nairobi so she can support her two younger siblings to go to school. She also would like to further her studies some time in the future.
